a note from the presidents
Dear readers, writers and thinkers,
The Tamar Valley Writers Festival (TVWF) is delighted to announce its 2024 program, featuring an eclectic mix of events that celebrate the art of storytelling in all its forms. From October 11th to 14th, the transformed University of Tasmania campus as Inveresk will host literary enthusiasts, offering a weekend filled with insightful panels, engaging workshops, and special appearances by renowned Tasmanian and Australian authors.

We are thrilled to welcome such a diverse and talented lineup of authors and to celebrate everything from science fiction to spicy fiction! The Tamar Valley Writers Festival is about more than just celebrating books; it’s about fostering a local and national community of writers and readers who inspire and support each other. We can’t wait to see everyone there and share in this incredible celebration of literature.

Our lineup reflects the diversity and richness of the modern literary landscape, offering attendees a chance to engage with some of the most compelling voices in writing today.

The 2024 program is a testament to the festival's commitment to showcasing a broad spectrum of genres and perspectives. From gripping crime fiction to heartwarming romance, from profound memoirs to thought-provoking speculative fiction, there’s a session for every literary taste.

We are also delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Tasmania, and we will be streaming some events to a broader audience. The festival hub will be in the state-of-the-art River’s Edge building in Inveresk, which many citizens of the Tamar Valley haven’t seen.
Whether you're an established author, a reader, or just love stories, there’s something at TVWF 2024 for you.
